Who are you
We are Crowd Studio, our team is composed by Carles Moré, Raül Drecshel, Laura Mata and Pau Arjona. We are two designers and two programmers. We are creative thinkers who really want to achieve different results and make our client feel unique with what they get. As we are a digital production company too, we try always to go further and find something unexpected and useful for our clients.
Your current job :
We were supposed to use summer days for finalizing some projects and working on our own new website (Our longest project at the moment), but mostly, we are involved in other projects such as: The launching of a worldwide App about a new car model, Making an exhibition/installation, Art Direction and Graphic Design for a Cultural event/Festival, and some marketing pieces for educational projects.
In which city are you located?
We are based in Barcelona.
A word to define what kind of worker you are :
non-conformist What tools are essential to your life (app, software, etc..) Photoshop, illustrator, indesign or mail in our every-work-day, cinema 4D, After Effects and many other programming platforms.
What does your office space look like?
We have a little office, I think I would define it as warn and comfortable. We are 200m of distance from the beach and 1 km from the mountain, so It’s easy to get out and take a breath.
What kind of music do you listen when you are working ?
Lately we are listening to Jamie XX, Caribou, FKA Twigs, Tourist, Hot Chip, Kate Tempest, Kiasmos, Holly Herndon… Depending on the mood of the day or who get the power of the speakers.
Do you have a way to organize your day to maximize your work ?
Yes, even though sometimes is difficult because it not only depends on you. But we use to start early morning checking the mails and answering. That way we’ve got more hours to get the work done, because I have my day scheduled by works per hours, need to have all well-programmed.
What tips would you give to improve productivity ?
Organization is the key of productivity, have a good planning done, with some extra days (depending on the project) for the unexpected. If you have the week planned you won’t stop to think what do you have to do, you’ll have your time to rest or do whatever you want. Not only your time, your schedule needs to tally with the rest of your team, as we work like a chain of process in each project. It’s the hardest part, you have to be preventive.
You’re better than your colleagues to :
I think we have an strong digital side and that’s the thing that we stands out for, but we have people in our team who have a large experience on identity and editorial projects. That’s why we like to combine the different disciplines globally (Identity, Art Direction, Digital, motion…)
What is the best advice anyone has given you ?
Read the image and look at the typography What is your best tip for saving time ? Organize, Prioritize and Communicate.
What is your routine start and end of the day ?
Start with Mails and, if possible, end up doing anything of sport.
Aside from your computer and your phone, what gadget can you not go without?
My Graphic tablet.
