"Go home and tomorrow everything with a coffee, you will see it better"

Who are you :

My name is Irene Molina, I am 29 years old and I am passionate graphic designer. I started designing when I was a kid even not being aware of it. When I was at school, I started already using few techniques such as drawing, collage and using all kind of color markers in order to create front pages and make its contents always enjoyable. I really enjoyed it.

Your current job

I am currently working in a consultant agency named The Cocktail as a senior UI designer. We work for big brands creating new experiencies that make an impact on the client, on the business and on the user's experience. I really love UX world and I always try to go and see through the interface.

In my free time I collaborate with Muskae and I do personal project for behance. I never stop creating and looking for something new or different to do. Always thinking in new ideas to be able to develop and to enjoy what I like to do the most.

What tools are essential to your life (app, software, etc..)

Illustrator to design branding, illustrations, iconography. Sketch for interface design. But the best tool for me is my moleskine and my colour pencils. If i need to explain something to somebody i need to draw it.

What does your office space look like?

I actually do not have a unique space. Sometimes i work at a cafe or having a beer with my colleagues from work, sometimes I just lock myself in my room enjoying the music so that people at home know that I am working into something good. The only thing I need is some order before starting, a very luminous space and a comfortable chair.

What kind of music do you listen when you are working ?

It depends on the moment and where I am into the project. If inspiration does not come, I love listening to new music, such as those typical Spotify suggestion playlists and finding new bands or artists that can inspire me.

What I never listen to is to classic music or jazz because I get very nervous with that kind of music when I am working. Suelo escuchar mucho: Is tropical, cristal fighters, tame impala, arcade fire, the strokes, radiohead, david bowie, vampire weekend... I use to listen to Is tropical, crystal fighters, tame impala, arcade fire, the strokes, radiohead, david bowie, vampire weekend...

Do you have a way to organize your day to maximize your work

Everyday I make a to do list in order to evade and get away from all daily worries. Next day I take a look at the list and I start choosing the task that have a higher priority. I usually do a check list in evernote where I just mark the ones I have already done.

What tips would you give to improve productivity

Making small tasks and being constant and accomplishing all of them

Not stopping from doing anything unless what is actually happening is even more urgent

To give priority and accomplishing always deadlines

if you are not being productive, go for a walk or leave it for tomorrow, everything will be solved in 5 minutes

What is the best advice anyone has given you ?

"Go home and tomorrow everything with a coffee, you will see it better"

What is your best tip for saving time

never stop with a task that you were in the middle of it, because if you leave it, it will be more difficult to try to get it later.

look for inspiration every second and having everything tidy in the browsing to be easily able to access to new sources of inspiration but without wasting time searching for something if it is late and you cannot make it, next day in the morning you will make it faster dont think a lot in something you are stuck in, leave it like thins and next day go and take again a look

Dont design small. make it big and start playing with it

What is your routine start and end of the day

I start the day watching muzli, behance and dribbble. Once i have done this, i go for a coffee, talk to my colleagues and I start the day with more energy. For ending my day, watching series and relax on the sofa

Aside from your computer and your phone, what gadget can you not you go without?

My ipad, it goes with me every second next to my house coach. This helps me not to stop looking for inspiration
