Who are you :
Your current job :
Illustrator and animator
In which city are you located?
London for now, but soon I will be living in Matsumoto in Japan, until the end of the year at least. Don't know where I will be after that, not London though!
A word to define what kind of worker you are :
I think I plan my work quite a lot. I like to plan and execute in that order and am not really a fan of ad-hoc style projects where the client changes their mind, especially with animation!
What tools are essential to your life (app, software, etc..)
Sketchbook and pencils, digital camera on my phone and adobe illustrator and photoshop, adobe aftereffects for animation.
What does your office space look like?
A bit cluttered, I have way too much junk. I like the idea of one day having a minimalist office space.
What kind of music do you listen when you are working ?
All kinds of stuff at the moment - I listen to playlists on Soundcloud which range from Motown, funk, psychedelic, electronic to film and game soundtracks. I really love that new Tame Impala track 'Let it Happen'. That comes on at least once a day.
Do you have a way to organize your day to maximize your work ?
Just before I go to bed I write down what I am doing the next day, in order in my diary. When it gets really busy I will write how much time I can spend on each item, but only if I have to.
What tips would you give to improve productivity ?
I tend to do some personal work at the start and end of the day, maybe an hour or so, then move onto client work. This keeps me interested in something at least if the work I'm doing is, or has become dull.
You're better than your colleagues to :
(not sure what this means?)
What is the best advice anyone has given you ?
Work hard and do what you like.
What is your best tip for saving time ?
Don't waste time! It is easy to lose time by getting addicted to social media. I don't really go on it.
What is your routine start and end of the day ?
Aside from the personal work I bookend my day with as mentioned above -mornings are first spent checking emails and replying for about 30mins. After that I will try to go for a walk for half an hour or so before getting to work.
Aside from your computer and your phone, what gadget can you not go without?
Headphones, Wacom tablet, hard drives,
