New.

What kind of music do you listen when you are working?

It varies but Erik Satie, and Aphex Twin seem to get a lot of play lately.

Do you have a way to organize your day to maximize your work?

I usually check email first, tackle small jobs next, then settle in to do the thoughtful or experimental work. Some days are highly productive in terms of the number of files created while others are spent on research and developing an idea.

What tips would you give to improve productivity?

Shut off social media – it can be very distracting.

You’re better than your colleagues at:

Not better but maybe more experienced, so I’d like to say wire-framing or typography but it’s probably just age – I’ve just been designing longer than the junior designers.

What is the best advice anyone has given you?

Know when the design is finished. Also, if something’s not working… try making it bigger.

What is your best tip for saving time?

Have production specs up front, use style sheets and duplicate art boards.

What is your routine start and end of the day?

Start with coffee, make something beautiful, spend time with my daughter and end with a glass of wine.
