What was the inspiration behind your brewery?
My wife and I started home brewing, decided to join the craft brewery craze. Incorporated the business, developed business plan, purchased building/property and ordered equipment. From initial concept to grand opening, the process took 2.5 years.
Can you give us a tour of your beer scene?
Including Gull Dam Brewing, there are four local breweries within 15 miles of each other. This complements our central Minnesota location with the identity of being a brewery tour destination.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start a brewery?
Startup advice: seek the assistance from someone who has already been through the process. From developing a business plan to handing government agencies, the experience learned from a mentor will save a new brewery entrepreneur a lot of time.
