Presenters' Bios

Dana McCauley is the Executive Director for Food Starter, a food business incubator and accelerator, located in Toronto. Dana is a seasoned front end marketing executive with extensive experience in all facets of the food business and a track record of taking ideas from concept to kitchen to commercialization. Dana was Vice President of Marketing Innovation for an internationally successful frozen foods company and an on-air judge for seasons one and two of Canadian reality TV show Recipe to Riches. Dana’s most recent media project is YouTube channel Food Trends TV where she shares industry insights in a video format.

Michael Wolfson is the Senior Advisor Food & Beverage Sector for the City of Toronto Economic Development and Culture Division and has created a 30 year career out of his passion for culinary arts and business. For 20 years Michael supported and drove new product development, sales, and marketing for a number of natural foods manufacturers and distributors. In his current role, Michael champions industry-wide initiatives such as: developing export opportunities for Ontario food processors, creating labor force training for this sector, incubation, and commercialization of new products, and assisting large and small food processors in Toronto grow their operations. Michael has participated on the Greater Toronto Agricultural Action Committee, Ontario Culinary Tourism Steering Committee, the Toronto Enviro‐food Working Group, the City of Toronto Food Strategy Steering Committee, the Board of the Toronto Food Business Incubator, the Advisory Committee for the Toronto Local Food Procurement Policy and an advisor for the Golden Horseshoe Food and Farming Action Committee. He is a graduate of both York University and George Brown College.
