Emerging visual artists are invited to apply to participate in the first edition of the Emerging Art Market, which will take place from September 13 to 16, 2018 in Dorchester Square in downtown Montreal. The Emerging Art Market will be a veritable springboard for emerging artists, offering 3 months of training (10 workshops from May to August 2018) focusing on professional development. It will give certain artists the opportunity to make their first sales, create a professional network, and make a name for themselves.
Ten students or graduates visual artists from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) and ten students or graduates visual artists from Concordia University will be selected to participate. With the assistance of the Conseil des arts de Montréal, ten emerging visual artists will also be selected.
The Emerging Art Market is an initiative by Carrefour jeunesse-emploi Montréal Centre-Ville, Art Souterrain, and JACK Marketing, in collaboration with Destination Centre-Ville, the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), Concordia University, the Foundation of Greater Montreal, and the Claudine and Stephen Bronfman Family Foundation, supported by the Conseil des arts de Montréal.
