What to consider before purchasing a Ryobi Generator

What to consider before purchasing a Ryobi Generator

Published by Programme B

Ryobi is a popular Japanese electronics manufacturer and although they are more well known in their home country for their automobile electronics and telecommunications equipment in other countries like the UK they have made a bigger name for themselves when it comes to generators.

The Ryobi brand name is now under the Techtronic Industries Company Limited (TTI) a Hong-Kong based business founded in 1985. But Ryobi was actually founded much earlier in 1943 although its generators weren’t manufactured till much later.

Ryobi products are available in many different countries including America, Europe, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand. So, now you know some of the histories behind the manufacturer let’s take a closer look at the range of generators you’ll find under the Ryobi brand name.

Ryobi’s Range of Generators

Ryobi has an extensive range of generators under their brand name although they primarily focus on smaller portable models. This includes inverter models of the generator as well so you won’t be short of choice when it comes to choosing a Ryobi machine.

If you want a portable generator they are certainly a good name to choose. Let’s take a more detailed look at Ryobi generators to see what you need to consider before purchasing one.

The Price

One of the most important factors when buying a generator is the price. Ryobi makes smaller portable generators which means they will often be much cheaper than a conventional home backup model. However, because Ryobi machines are only available from selected hardware/ electronics shops/ websites in the UK the price can vary quite considerably.

Some of their generators are quite budget-friendly while others are much more expensive. You can find a lot of generators in the 200 to the 300-pound range while others can be much higher priced. So, Ryobi is a good choice for people shopping for a bargain and for people looking for a more expensive luxury model.

The Portability

Ryobi generators are all portable models and this means they are much smaller and lightweight machines. However, there is still quite a lot of scope to how portable these generators are some of their machines are quite large so will require a wheel kit to properly move around.

The good news is many of the portable generators in the Ryobi range do come with a wheel kit, sometimes this is available at an extra-charge although they do sometimes come included with the initial purchase. Some of the portable/ inverter models of the generator are also designed with built-in handles which make moving them around easier.

The Power

Finally, let’s look at the wattages available when it comes to Ryobi generators, shall we? Some of the smaller generators in the Ryobi range have wattages of around 1000 watts while larger models have around 2000 to 3000 watts.

So, you can certainly get a powerful portable generator for your money although there are more powerful models available from other manufacturers. But for most people, 3000 watts will usually be enough when it comes to a portable generator.
