2021 was a productive time for game developers. Lots of PC games were released during this time. So, it’s complicated to choose the best game. Don’t know where to start? Pay attention to these games.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy
Few people imagined that the Guardians of the Galaxy game from Eidos Montreal Studios would be so amazing. But almost everyone who has tried it says that the writers managed to surpass James Gunn’s films for the movie universe. And that’s not a bad claim to success. The player will have to reincarnate as Star Lord and try to turn a team of loners into a cohesive unit where everyone can rely on each other. As you progress, all of the characters reveal themselves and change, and what they become depends on Peter Quill’s decisions.
At the heart of the game, there is the idea of accepting loss, and this loss is much bigger than the one when you don’t see the expected sports betting stats in Canada. Every member of the team has lost someone close to them, and this is largely a consequence of a massive galactic war in which millions of living beings have died. And when the Church of Universal Truth shows up, offering hope to see all the dead again, entire civilizations are ready to embrace the new faith. The Guardian team has to take on the role of saviors of the galaxy.
Resident Evil Village
The Resident Evil series often experiments with setting and gameplay. The new release introduced a new adventure that continues Resident Evil 7. Ethan Winters rescues his wife Mia from her imprisonment in Louisiana. They tried to live a normal life, they had a daughter Rose, but one day Chris Redfield broke into the house and kidnapped the child. Ethan is left with no choice but to go to Eastern Europe in search of his daughter.
In Village, the player sees everything through Winters’ eyes. Once in Romania, Ethan learns that something terrible is happening around an unnamed village. His enemies will be werewolves, vampires, cyborgs, and a number of local barons, among whom Lady Dimitrescu, who has become the mascot of the game, stands out.
Kid A Mnesia: Exhibition
Kid A Mnesia: Exhibition is more of a virtual interactive museum from Epic Games and the band Radiohead, which was made for the anniversary of the re-release of their major albums Kid A and Amnesiac. You, starting in a pencil-drawn forest, walk around a large building with rooms that vary in scale, content, and even graphics.
It’s a new level of immersion in Radiohead’s work. In normal life, you might listen to a track, watch a music video, or even go to a concert, but with this museum, you can immerse yourself in the music of the Brits. There are artwork, covers, excerpts of performances, some demos, echoes of songs, and so on and so forth scattered throughout the rooms.
