Top Ways To Fight Static Hair

Published by Programme B

Our hair is one of our most precious features and is something that makes us all individual. How we style our hair is a way of expressing ourselves and taking care of it is essential. With the haircare industry boasting a huge range of diverse products, there is something to suit everyone. In our lifetimes some of us will experience hair loss but there are hair care solutions available to us. Maybe a hair transplant in Turkey is something you are considering, or maybe you’re looking for a simpler solution to help you. From hair loss to dry hair to frizzy hair, there’s a product to suit you. Here are a few ways you can fight static hair.

The Science Behind Static

Static all comes down to positive and negative charges. Just like in a magnet, two negative charges repel, the same as two positives, but a negative and positive stick together. Static happens when there is an imbalance of either too many negative or too many positive charges. Typically, hair is negatively charged. Chemists have found a way of making positively charged products to compact static, neutralising imbalances so that your hair can stay sleek and smooth, no matter what.

Leave-in Conditioner

Using a light leave-in conditioner can help to deeply hydrate your hair. This product penetrates your hair strands more deeply than your everyday conditioner and results in hydrated hair, helping to reduce static fly-aways. Leave-in conditioners should be applied to your hair and combed through to detangle, then all that’s left to do is dry and style it. It’s just that simple when it comes to controlling that pesky frizz.  You can decide on how much leave-in conditioner to use by how much hair you have – if your hair is thick, you can be generous and may need to apply more than someone with thin hair.

Avoid plastic brushes

Static is caused by friction. Switching to using brushes or combs that are made from natural materials like a bristle brush or wood comb can help you to avoid exposing your hair to added friction. Using a metal comb is helpful as metal conducts electricity. When you use the comb, the electrical particles in your hair stick to it, removing the charges and the static from your hair.

Silk pillowcases

Bedhead can be a thing of the past if you choose to invest in one of these pillows. Silk helps your hair flow over the pillow when you’re asleep, whereas cotton catches the hair and leaves you with frizzy morning flyaways. If you’re looking for a product that can save you time when it comes to taming your mane in the morning, a silk pillowcase could be a real saviour for you and your locks.

Frizz-Control sprays

Static and frizz can be irritating when you want to achieve smooth, shiny hair. If you’re not ready to give up the straighteners just yet, there are sprays that are perfect for protecting from heat as well as having weatherproof and humidity-defying options.
