Who are you :
Hi, my name is Antonia (or Toni), I’m a graphic design student and photographer currently based in Paris.
Your current job :
Graphic Designer+Photographer. I’m currently enrolled in my last year of a bachelor degree at Penninghen in Paris (Art Direction).
In which city are you located?
I’m studying and I’m basically living in Paris, but half of the time I’m in Vienna, my hometown.
A word to define what kind of worker you are :
Perfectionist. I really like to take care of little details to get the best out of my projects.
What tools are essential to your life (app, software, etc..)
Definitely my digital and analog camera!
And a notebook. Everything starts with a notebook, where I write down my first ideas. I think it’s the best way ideas can develop an thrive properly.
Otherwise, I’m essentially working with Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, but I also love to experiment with paper, patterns to make collages etc.
What does your office space look like?
Very minimalistic at the moment since I don‘t have a lot of space in my room, but one of the most important things is to have a great light source (especially daylight).
But I dream about having a big common space to work with friends/ other artists, an atelier where you can share, develop and exchange ideas. I guess it‘s everyone’s dream, isn‘t it?
What kind of music do you listen to when you are working?
I love listening to classical music, mostly piano when I’m working. It‘s really meditative and gets me into the right flow.
Otherwise more like blues and jazzy stuff.
Do you have a way to organize your day to maximize your work?
I get up early so I have time to get into the right „working mood“ without having time pressure.
Mostly I‘m doing a small to do list, just to get written down what has to be done on time. But I think it‘s really important to take breaks, have a coffee with a friend or go to an exhibition. It‘s never a loss of time, on the contrary, it increases productivity. I guess I should remind me this more from time to time-
What tips would you give to improve productivity?
Well, I guess I just answered that question above. But yes, definitely allow yourself and your mind to get distracted by doing the „right“ breaks. There is nothing more frustrating than working all day, without being productive at all. Just enjoy what you do and stay positive.
You’re better than your colleagues to :
…be on time but also to stress out like a fool.
What is the best advice anyone has given you?
Believe in yourself, it will always work out well.
What is your best tip for saving time?
Always try your best without overworking.
What is your routine start and end of the day?
Get up early, coffee coffee coffee and a nice breakfast, and at the end of the day, I like to relax, watch a movie or have a drink with friends.
Aside from your computer and your phone, what gadget can you not you go without?
My Leica Flex and probably my graphics tablet.
