Who are you:
George Kvasnikov, interface and graphic designer, a bit of a musician, fitness addict and all-round good guy.

Your current job:
I am freelance interface designer and student of FH Potsdam (Interface Design). Now I am working on my degree Project.

In which city are you located?
I was born and grew up in St.-Petersburg, but i’ve been living for over 5 years in Berlin, because of school.

A word to define what kind of worker you are:
Workaholic.

What tools are essential to your life (app, software, etc..)
Pencil, Paper and Photoshop.

What does your office space look like?
I rent a desk in co-working space in the heart of Berlin. It’s a beautiful modern penthouse in a old industrial building. However, today it looks more like a mess, because we don’t have any time to clean it up.

What kind of music do you listen when you are working?
Choose the right music is a problem for me, I spend a lot of time to find the right one. I really like acoustic guitar, piano and acoustic covers. Recently I started to use moods in Spotify. I choose something from “Focus” mood. When I am alone in the office, I turn on my favourite songs and sing along loud. This really boost my creativity.

Do you have a way to organize your day to maximize your work?
Absolutely. I plan my day in advance. And I run a stopwatch while I work, so that I can see how much time I spend on my tasks.

What tips would you give to improve productivity?
I suggest to always create a time estimate for the tasks you plan to do, so that you can imagine how much time you need to make the work done. And then, try to follow your estimate.

You’re better than your colleagues to:
Everybody is cool.

What is the best advice anyone has given you?
Everything in design has to have it’s reason. I always keep it in mind and the most often question I ask myself about my work is “why?”.

What is your best tip for saving time?
The best tip to save time is to to always be busy . The less free time you have, the faster you are done with your tasks and the more time you will have to do something else. And never work at home and at night.

What is your routine start and end of the day?
I realized, that I’m not productive in the morning. So, I usually go to the gym or shopping or swim in the morning and I appear in the office at 1-2 pm and work until 9-10 pm. After work I usually do nothing.

Aside from your computer and your phone, what gadget can you not you go without?
I don’t have any gadgets, except my iPhone. And I am happy with that.
