Monocle launches first menswear capsule: Monocle Voyage

Published by Leonardo Calcagno

Monocle’s first capsule ready to wear collection, Monocle Voyage, is designed for the well travelled gentleman. Launching in February 2014 the sharp range – including a travel blazer, trousers, oxford shirt, sweatshirt and t-shirt – is functional, versatile and effortlessly handsome.

Monocle magazine’s creative team, based in London and lead by Daniela Diletto, have worked with the highest-quality manufacturers from Japan and Italy to create a collection that marks the magazine’s seventh anniversary.

Monocle editor in chief, Tyler Brûlé says the five-piece capsule is planned as an introduction point to an ongoing seasonal Monocle Voyage fashion collection.

“The aim of the collection is to fill a gap in the wardrobe of our audience who are constantly crossing the equator and need garments that work in all climates”, explains Brûlé. “We came up with a series of pieces that will work in Montreal in January as well as Auckland in their high Summer”.

Priced from £80 for the Japanese jersey cotton T-shirt through to £400 for the unconstructed travel blazer, Monocle Voyage will be available exclusively in all five Monocle Shops in London, New York, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Toronto – and online at vogage.monocle.com.
