Famous for a sound at once stark and lavish, Timber Timbre pairs front man Taylor Kirk’s haunting croon and imagistic lyrics to great effect. With Hot Dreams, the band’s third album due April 1st via Arts & Crafts, Kirk and bandmate Simon Trottier daub vibrant colour across Timber Timbre’s ever-evolving palette, connecting arid western to plodding horror with the pomp of Hollywood phantasm.
Having recently revealed the video for the title track and premiering second single Curtains?!, the band has just returned from excellent shows at SXSW to prepare for a European tour as well as North American spring dates. Today, Timber Timbre has announced three Canadian concerts, including a stop in Montreal, at Métropolis, on September 19th. Tickets for the show go on sale this Friday, March 21st at noon via TicketMaster. The band will also play in Toronto on May 23rd and in Vancouver on June 10th.
Hot Dreams is the follow-up to 2011’s Polaris Music Prize short-listed and JUNO Award winning Creep On Creepin’ On, which was hailed for its black humour and spectral beauty (The Guardian) and possessed…a style all its own (Pitchfork).
