Azure announces the finalists of fourth annual AZ awards

From an impressive 652 submissions arriving from 36 countries, 48 finalists have been selected in the fourth annual AZ Awards – an international competition honouring excellence in design and architecture

Toronto, April 10, 2014 – The high-calibre international jury has conferred and the finalists have been selected. Today, the public is invited to cast their vote for the People’s Choice. All 48 finalists are available for online viewing and voters are selecting their favourites in each of the 13 categories. The winners, including the People’s Choice, will be revealed on June 20, in Toronto, Canada.

The winning designs will be featured in AZURE Magazine’s Annual Awards Issue, on newsstands in June. This issue will be packed with the best in furniture, lighting, architecture, interiors and landscapes from around the world. Also included are visionary concepts, striking temporary spaces and extraordinary student work.

Toronto’s historic Evergreen Brick Works is the venue for the 2014 AZ Awards Gala Celebration. On June 20, top players in Canada’s architectural and design community will rub shoulders with other finalists from across the globe at a reception and awards ceremony hosted by Misha Glouberman.

The 2014 AZ Awards jury includes: designer Ron Arad of Ron Arad Associates (London), interior designer Diego Burdi of Burdifilek (Toronto), retailer Jamie Gray of Matter boutique (New York), Patricia Patkau of Patkau Architecture (Vancouver), and landscape architecture chair Charles Waldheim of Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design (Cambridge, US).
