Hi, my name is Melany Altuna, I’m a visual development artist that loves to design appealing characters and place them in wonderful stories.

Your current job :
Im a freelancer illustrator. At the moment I work a lot for the gaming and advertising companies.

In which city are you located?
Caracas ,Venezuela

A word to define what kind of worker you are :

What tools are essential to your life (app, software, etc..)
My computer and a Wacom tablet. I usually carry a moleskin sketchbook everywhere with a blue and red pencil.

What does your office space look like?
Messy most of the time haha, and really girly

What kind of music do you listen when you are working ?
I don’t like to take a lot of time buying music or thinking what I’m going to listen, so I use pandora a lot when I’m working. I like motivating music that makes me feel happy and inspires me. The only music that I don’t like is latin music.

Do you have a way to organize your day to maximize your work ?
Im a post-it FREAK haha, What I do is that write one for every task because I like to rip it off when im done.

What tips would you give to improve productivity ?
Love the projects that you’re working on, that way you will want to work on them all day and all night, and get the best results.

You’re better than your colleagues to :
I don’t think I’m better than anyone. We are different from each other.

What is the best advice anyone has given you ?
Never give up on my dreams no matter how difficult they can be.

What is your best tip for saving time ?
Stop procrastinating and work on your art!

What is your routine start and end of the day ?
I get up, eat my cereal, sit on my desk and look at references for like half and hour, check my emails and draw all day long until bed time, then I watch my favorite series until I pass out.

Aside from your computer and your phone, what gadget can you not you go without ?
My moleskin sketchbook. My red and blue pencil.
