I’m Irene Clua, 26 years old graphic designer from Andorra. I studied and worked on advertising in Barcelona before coming back to my country as a freelance graphic designer.

Freelance graphic designer. I work mainly on branding and editorial design projects.

What does your office space look like?
It looks like a collage of all the projects I am working on. An ordered disorder.
What kind of music do you listen when you are working ?
It depends on the mood I am; electronic, indie, rock… Sometimes I need to listen to some fast and happy music, and sometimes I need to be more calm and relaxed.
Do you have a way to organize your day to maximize your work ?
Afternoon is the best time to work for me. It’s when I can be efficiently concentrated for hours, so I try to arrange meetings and other things to do in the morning. Or at least at some time that don’t cut my afternoon.
What tips would you give to improve productivity ?
To plan reasonable goals you want to achieve on a day or week, then work on it trying to don’t break your concentration (for example, answering emails you can answer later or thinking on other projects).

What is the best advice anyone has given you ?
Be flexible / respect yourself.
What is your best tip for saving time ?
To know how much time you want to invest on a project, and also to be sure from de very first moment that the briefing is clear and your client and you are looking to the same direction.
What is your routine start and end of the day ?
I like to start the day drinking a cup of tea, listening to music and having a look to what is going on in the design inspiration websites. The end of the day is more variable. I usually plan what I have to do the next day.
Aside from your computer and your phone, what gadget can you not you go whithout?
My notebook and pen. And my camera.
