Hlynur Ingólfsson, Graphic designer from Reykjavík Iceland who studied graphic design at Iceland Academy of the Arts

Your current job :
After two years working for the TV show LazyTown I changed my job recently and I am now working on starting a new company with all kinds of projects, from magazine layouts to branding and advertisements.

In which city are you located?
Reykjavík

A word to define what kind of worker you are :
Ambitious

What tools are essential to your life (app, software, etc..)
I mostly work in Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign but most of the time my ideas are born in the sketchbook

What does your office space look like?
It’s a bit empty at the moment because we just moved in but usually it depends on how busy I am

What kind of music do you listen when you are working ?
I like to listen to rap music but when I really need to focus I change to some instrumental music

Do you have a way to organize your day to maximize your work ? I check the list of things that need to be done and start with the most important one and so on

What tips would you give to improve productivity ?
I try to keep my mind on one project at a time

Being me. Every designer is different

What is the best advice anyone has given you ?
One teacher told me if I could make people laugh I could do anything, thats why I try to
keep my work fun and don’t take myself too seriously

What is your best tip for saving time ?
Before you start working, try to organize your time.

What is your routine start and end of the day ?
I start my day with a cup of coffee and a newspaper to get my head started, at the end of the day I try to do something completely different to get my mind off my work.

Aside from your computer and your phone, what gadget can you not you go without?
My Moleskine.
