Who are you :
My name is Ka-Lai Chan

Your current job :
Product designer. I have my own exclusive furniture and product collection, which has been presented in various galleries, international design fairs and exhibitions in USA, Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Netherlands. My studio is specialized in designing interior products and delivering work for various design labels (KRISTALIA, Puik Art), hotels, restaurants and other clients.

Utrecht

Passionate

What tools are essential to your life (app, software, etc..)
Adobe, Solid Works, Pinterest, Moleskine notebook, Spotify

What does your office space look like?
It’s about 20m2. Concrete floor, white walls, old traditional carpet and plants. Two big tables and lot of 3D experiments on the shelves.

What kind of music do you listen when you are working ?
Everything! From rock, classic, indie, hiphop, reggae, dance to hardstyle. I can’t work and live without music.

Do you have a way to organize your day to maximize your work ?
I make a week planning and every morning I make a day planning included times when I have to finish.

What tips would you give to improve productivity ?
Plan the big projects in the morning! In this period you have the most energy. Don’t get distracted by incoming emails. (turn notification off)

What is the best advice anyone has given you ?
Do what you love and do it often.

What is your best tip for saving time ?
Organize and stick to it.

What is your routine start and end of the day ?
Start: music, doing exercises.
End: gym, music.

Aside from your computer and your phone, what gadget can you not you go without?
My motorbike Yamaha XV750. Custom building it now with IJlstra.
