Who are you :
My name is Juan Carlos, but everybody knows me as “Jotaká”

Your current job:
I’m illustrator

In which city are you located?
I live in Valencia, Spain.

A word to define what kind of worker you are:
Constant

What tools are essential to your life (app, software, etc..)
A little bit of everything. I live surrounded by colored cardboards, scalpel, glue, color pencils and photoshop.

What does your office space look like?
It’s a small room in my home, but I get some concentration in it. Its walls are full of works from other illustrators that I like.

What kind of music do you listen when you are working?
I like all kind of music, actually I listen a lot the band “Of monsters and men”.

Do you have a way to organize your day to maximize your work?
I use to dedicate the morning for one project and the afternoon for another one; this alternation helps me in my work.

What tips would you give to improve productivity?
In my opinion the best way to work is to be totally concentrated and enjoy a lot your activity.

Drink beer! haha

What is the best advice anyone has given you?
You draw what you like and upload it to internet, it’s sure that always there will be someone who likes it.

What is your best tip for saving time?
Not obfuscate yourself because any project. If it doesn’t work, you let it for tomorrow and continue with another one.

What is your routine start and end of the day?
Normally, in the morning I try to bring social networks and e-mail up-to-date. My morning is synonymous of organization. In the afternoon I work in draw, paint, cut out and listening music, it’s when I really enjoy my job.

Aside from your computer and your phone, what gadget can you not you go without?
My camera, I need to take pictures of places where I am. The photography is another of my passions.
