Who are you :
My name is Bart Zimny, a technology design consultant with an emphasis on product strategy. Working in the blurring field between digital and physical products, Internet of things and connected devices. I hold bachelor degree in Industrial and interaction design. I love science–fiction and electronics.
I’m CEO and Design Strategist at VORM.
In which city are you located?
I’m located in Cracow, Poland. I travel a lot to San Francisco, California where we have another office and operations

What tools are essential to your life (app, software, etc..)
A phone and a laptop with MOUSE 🙂
I couldn’t exist without Google’s inbox and calendar. I’m also always on our slack and spotify.
I’m working a lot in Adobe Illustrator(that’s my favorite design tool) and Indesign, google sheets and. For modeling I use Solidworks and 3d printer.
What does your office space look like?
Our main office is located in old tenement house in Cracow’s Old town. Its very spacious with a lot of computers, electronic pieces or prototypes scattered around
What kind of music do you listen when you are working ?
Usually something calm and stable eg ambient, minimal techno, electronic. Eg. Tycho (<3), Kalkbrenner, Moderat, Boards of Canada. Spotify is constantly serving me something new.
Do you have a way to organize your day to maximize your work ?
I try to split my week into meeting days and creative days. I can’t really focus on designs if I have constant disturbs
What tips would you give to improve productivity ?
Take long enough sleep and skip meetings

What is the best advice anyone has given you ?
You have to be bold but you have to stay humble
What is your best tip for saving time ?
Plan your calendar day before, don’t multitask and track your time
What is your routine start and end of the day ?
There is nothing better that lazy morning coffee and evening workout. Those are the only routines that I have
Aside from your computer and your phone, what gadget can you not you go without?
My backpack – its very solid and carries everything that I need even for weekend jaunt. I always have earphones and ultra light jacket that packs into small pouch
