Office tale of Kuba Bogaczynski, digital creative and visual designer.

Published by Leonardo Calcagno

Who are you :

My name is Kuba Bogaczynski and I’m a digital creative and visual designer.

Your current job :

Associate Creative Director at Jam3. In which city are you located? I share my time between office in Toronto and my studio in Warsaw.

A word to define what kind of worker you are :

Curious

What tools are essential to your life (app, software, etc..)

I wouldn’t go far without Photoshop, Spotify and Evernote.

What does your office space look like?

I like my surrounding organized but interesting. I believe clear spaces have this inviting and inspiring feel.

What kind of music do you listen when you are working ?

Usually I try to find music that fits the mood of the project, something that helps me tell the story right, but when I need to get something done right now, my choice is TRON Legacy soundtrack.

Do you have a way to organize your day to maximize your work?

There is a lot of things we do everyday exactly the same way. I try to make them as little part of my day as possible and leave the most time to be creative about something, regardless if it’s a project or finding a new couch.

What tips would you give to improve productivity?

If something takes no more than 5 minutes, do it right away and don’t leave it for later.

You’re better than your colleagues to:

Name polish traditional dishes.

What is the best advice anyone has given you?

Do your best work and the rest will follow.

What is your best tip for saving time?

Catalogue everything – references, files, tasks lists, thoughts. You will use it at some point. Trust me.

What is your routine start and end of the day?

My morning is usually family time, I go for a walk with my wife, run airings or go for a run. I start my work going through emails and organizing my day before anything crazy happens. By the end of the day I try to sum up my achievements and failures, what went well, what we could improve. Before going to bed I always try to find time to relax with something not work related, a good movie or a scandinavian crime book.

Aside from your computer and your phone, what gadget can you not you go without?

Persol glasses. The world and I look better this way.
