Who are you :
My name is Misha Petrick, I’m a founder and an art director of the Petrick animation studio based in Russia.
Your current job :
One year ago me and my brother have founded the Petrick animation studio, where we animate logos, infographics and make a commercial animation. Besides that we are working on couple independent projects, for example we’ve started to create our own animated series (you can see some pictures with characters in the box on the photo) and producing skateboards with our own design.

What tools are essential to your life (app, software, etc..)
After Effects, Photoshop, Flash and Cinema 4D on Retina Macbook; Clear, Camera and Notes on iPhone.
What does your office space look like?
Mostly I work at home and I migrate through my apartment all the time: if I’m bored to sit in one room, I move to kitchen; if I’m bored to sit at the kitchen I move to the different room etc.
What kind of music do you listen when you are working ?
I listen to all kinds of modern music, but i also like classical music, for example, in the past few days I’ve been listening to Ave Maria only.
Do you have a way to organize your day to maximize your work ?
It’s really hard to force yourself working steadily, if you are irrational. Try to work on couple different projects at the same time and switch your attention between them. In this case your productivity will be multiplied.
What tips would you give to improve productivity ?
The most important thing is to break the task into several parts. Sometimes a cup of coffee can help.
You’re better than your colleagues to :
I’m not a caviller and I can do something even if I don’t really like it.
What is the best advice anyone has given you ?
You never know what you can do till you try.
What is your best tip for saving time ?
Don’t think about saving the time, think about spending it usefully.
What is your routine start and end of the day ?
I wake up, brush my teeth, eat breakfast and accompany my girlfriend to the work. After that I check emails and work alone, with my brother or with freelancers if we have many projects. Usually I work till 11 pm even if we have guests at home. Weekends are the same, except I try to go out more.
Aside from your computer and your phone, what gadget can you not you go without?
My skateboard and dinosaurs.
