Who are you:
relajaelcoco studio that in Spanish means Relax studio. We are Pablo and Francesco a graphic design duo based in Madrid specialized in Editorial Design and Infographics. A couple years ago, Lorenzo, a wise Italian guy, joined our studio.
Your current job:
Masters and Commanders of our own studio.
In which city are you located?
Madrid (Spain) since three years ago, after living more the six years in Barcelona were we founded relajaelcoco.
A word to define what kind of worker you are:
“Freeatoms”. No rules, no chiefs, just freedom and good vibes.
What tools are essential to your life (app, software, etc..):
Just our brains, all the rest is not essential. A good laptop or a Wacom tablet are just toys to play with.
What does your office space look like?
A white, minimal, modern flat with wooden letters on the wall, plants, and a play room to relax while working. Like the half of pictures in Pinterest…
What kind of music do you listen when you are working?
Anything that can be defined music. From classic music to electronic, crossing through Disney Aladdin soundtrack up to jazz and hard rock. It depends the kind of project mood. For example, for our Forever Young about Peter Pan, we spent an entire week listening the John Williams soundtrack of Hook.
Do you have a way to organize your day to maximize your work?
Not exactly, we prefer to have a very free schedule, made by a lot of projects and jumping from one to another. What we need, due to this kind of process, is to keep fresh brains. Anyway, we are pretty sure that it’s a momentary situation, our idea is to afford just a couple of project at the same time.
What tips would you give to improve productivity?
On one side it’s important to feel free, it can sound obvious but in many workplaces it’s not. Plus, enjoying projects and have a very open mind approach can help too, and it’s not only about the designer role, it’s about the relationship you can establish with your clients. The more people feel free, the more they can go over fears and reach beauty. For this reason, the most important thing is to play all the time and try to push the client to discover happiness.
You’re better than your colleagues to:
Playing Rocket League at PS4. We have a relajaelcoco official team. We are not football passionate, but that game mix the best of soccer and cars. No one can resist it!
What is the best advice anyone has given you?
Do not hurry, just wait and enjoy the process, anything you desire eventually will come soon if you work hard.
What is your best tip for saving time?
Close the fucking Facebook! 😀 😀
What is your routine start and end of the day?
Our routine starts in the night, having some beers and fun with friends.
Those good vibes helps us to start the day with a very good energy, but never before 10 am.
Aside from your computer and your phone, what gadget can you not you go without?
A couple of good books, our PS4 and our spiritual guide helping us to discover new horizons.
