The selection of works has been undertaken by a committee of collectors formed by Haro Cumbusyan, Renee Drake, Josée & Marc Gensollen and Isabelle Lemaître, and chaired by Jean-Conrad Lemaître.

Under the premise “ art & cinema. Faraway, So Close,” drawn by artistic director Conrado Uribe, LOOP Festival unfolds in a number of venues in Barcelona. Highlights of this year are:

This year’s programme is the joint result of the LOOP curatorial team: Xavier Bassas, Pascale Cassagnau, Carolina Ciuti, Anna Dot, Antje Ehmann, Menene Gras, Carles Guerra, Arnau Horta, Joana Hurtado, Rosa Lleó, Martina Milà, Luis Miñarro, Gloria Moure, Diana Padrón, Imma Prieto, Hilde Teerlink, Rubén Verdú, and Andrés Vial.
LOOP Awards
A jury formed by Ferran Barenblit, Dirk Snauwaert and Kathryn Weir will award two films from the main selection with the Acquisition Award, with the support of Hoteles Catalonia, to a film which is acquired and included in the LOOP Collection, deposited at the MACBA; and the LOOP Fair Award, to the best gallery proposal.
Winner of the Video Production Prize 2016, artist Carles Congost, will be premiering his project Wonders onMay 26 at Arts Santa Mònica. This is a yearly joint co-production award of a video-based project promoted by the Xarxa de Centres d’Arts Visuals of Catalonia, Arts Santa Mònica and LOOP, with the collaboration of other partners.
Discovery Award finalists have been announced and will be presented on May 17 at Antiga Fàbrica Estrella Damm, where the award winner selected by jury members David Armengol, Ferran Barenblit, Carolyn Drake, and Jaap Guldemond, will be revealed.
