Office tale of Vincenzo Giannattasio, associate creative director at Ogilvy & Mather Albania

Published by Leonardo Calcagno

Who are you:

Vincenzo Giannattasio, but everybody calls me Truman

Your current job:

Associate Creative Director at Ogilvy & Mather Albania

In which city are you located?

Tirana, Albania

A word to define what kind of worker you are:

What tools are essential to your life (app, software, etc..)

Apart from the usual tools of the trade (Adobe Suite), brush and calligraphic pens, my Wacom, Spotify. And coffee, a lot of coffee.

What does your office space look like?

On monday everything is in its right place: my pens, my notebooks and all the stuff I have on the desk. When friday comes it looks more like a post-apocaliptic scenario.

What kind of music do you listen when you are working?

Since I also DJ in the weekends, I usually listen to what I play: soul, jazz, funk, lots of black music. But sometimes there’s the need of some grunge or post-rock or something else more energetic.

Do you have a way to organize your day to maximize your work?

Not really. I usually start organizing the workflow of the creative team, then I go with the projects I have to take care personally. First the more corporate ones (that need more concentration to me) then the more creative.

What tips would you give to improve productivity?

Even if you have to do something really boring or unimportant, try to do it like it’s the project of your life. I usually say: do it as if it is to promote yourself.

You’re better than your colleagues to:

Drink huge amounts of coffee.

What is the best advice anyone has given you?

Always look for more, for something better, for a more effective solution, even if you think you already have it. Oh, and also, when the project is finished, sleep on it and check it again the morning after.

What is your best tip for saving time?

Don’t save time. Take your time.

What is your routine start and end of the day?

A cup of coffee and half a liter of water in the morning. A glass of wine to end the day.

Aside from your computer and your phone, what gadget can you not you go without?

My tools for DJing.
