Who are you?
Lukasz Pachalko, ’90. I’m a graphic designer focused on branding, editorial and typography work.
Your current job:
I graduated from Strzeminski Academy of Fine Arts last year. Recently I started work in Hopa Studio (hopastudio.com) based in Warsaw and also run some self-initiated projects.
In which city are you located?
I split my time between Lodz and Warsaw, Poland.
A word to define what kind of worker you are:
Precise
What tools are essential to your life (app, software, etc..)
Mainly it’s Adobe software but I also tend to make use of photography, print screen and other analogue/experimental techniques in the process. I’m also getting used to the handy apps like Evernote or Instapaper.
What does your office space look like?
Both my home and work office space is simple and organised. I always surround myself with inspiring things like posters, records etc. I also like to have around new issues of favourite magazines and design/art related publications.
What kind of music do you listen when you are working?
It depends from a daytime and mood. Recently I found myself listening a lot to the Berlin Community Radio and Boiler Room podcasts. In evenings I choose rather deep and mellow music, jazz played from my records.
Do you have a way to organize your day to maximize your work?
I believe it’s a good idea to start with toughest tasks and thinking work first, plus always remember about taking breakes and relax.
What tips would you give to improve productivity?
Don’t know any. My productivity comes and goes in waves.

What is the best advice anyone has given you?
If it goes about design: Don’t be ever fully satisfied with your past works, try to find something you’d make better next time. Tip #2: Travel and observe a lot, visit the art exhibitions.
What is your best tip for saving time?
Be reliable and systematic in what you do. Prepare a good brief.

My camera, field notes and some fineliners.
