Catalin Lartist

Your current job : 

My current Job is Art Director at Gameloft Bucharest, making mobile games. And beside I do freelance work when I get extra time and mood.

In which city are you located? 

I live in Bucharest, Romania.

A word to define what kind of worker you are : 

I am a workahoolic if the current task is pleasing my senses and if there is drawing or expression ivolved.

What tools are essential to your life (app, software, etc..) 

My essential tools are my pencil, for hand drawing or tablet drawing and photoshop for editing.

What does your office space look like?

My office space at work is a casual corporate gaming office. And my home studio space looks like an apartment with artworks and sketchbooks.

What kind of music do you listen when you are working ? 

Music is like a fluid filling my mood. Vangelis, Klaus Schulze, Depeche Mode, Cure and a lot of others from experimental, ambiental, FSOL, Autechre, Atheus, to hip hop, Eazy E, going to agressive metal like Carcass, Slayer.

Do you have a way to organize your day to maximize your work ? 

I have no recipe for a maximized quality work. It all depends on my appetite of creating and the connection between my mood and the task.

What tips would you give to improve productivity ? 

Key is to immerse into the subject and style of the task.

You’re better than your colleagues to : 

To think and drag the work to a personal level.

What is the best advice anyone has given you ?

Everything is relative and take the things as they are, adapt, because there is no other version of reality at the given moment. 

What is your best tip for saving time ? 

Do what you enjoy the most.

What is your routine start and end of the day ? 

Play music or watch a fragment from a classical movie and eat breakfast. Drawing the night sketch before sleep.

Aside from your computer and your phone, what gadget can you not you go without?

My pencil and sketchbook.
