Who are you:
My name is Tien, I also go by t-wei, tea wei, t-diddles and Ted if it’s kinda loud in the room. I’m that quiet dude at a party.
Your current job:
I’m a freelance illustrator. Though I’m lucky enough to get out every now and then to paint big, so sometimes I guess a freelance big illustrator.
In which city are you located?
Wellington, New Zealand.

Spongey.
What tools are essential to your life (app, software, etc..)
Photoshop. I’m not sure what I’d do if I didn’t have that. Be a better draftsman I suppose.
What does your office space look like?
My office space is a little room on the fifth floor of an office building that we’ve gutted and rearranged to suit our purposes. I share it with my buds Yoii, Phoebe Morris and Stacy Eyles who are all pretty righteous artists in their own right. Plug plug plug.
What kind of music do you listen to when you are working?
Have you guys heard that ‘Meow meow I am a cat’ song? That was my anthem for the longest time. Right this minute I’m chipping through Knxwledge’s discography.
Do you have a way to organize your day to maximize your work ?
Given the variety of types of work I do, routine doesn’t really lend itself well. I tend to get most of my work done in the quiet hours of the early morning or late at night so I plan my day around that. Whenever feels the most peaceful y’know.
What tips would you give to improve productivity ?
My studiomate Stacy told me recently the antithesis of procrastination wasn’t concentration but peacefulness. Being conscious of this lately I think has made me a better drawer.
You’re better than your colleagues at :
Caffeine addiction.
What is the best advice anyone has given you ?
“Do not accept their speed limit.” – Derek Sivers, Youtube.
What is your best tip for saving time ?
Think in the shower. Sketch on the pooper.
What is your routine start and end of the day ?
Right now it’s wake up early, leave house, have a sit-down coffee/sketch/plan day, head to studio, work ’til you drop. Also eat and email somewhere in between all those good things.
Aside from your computer and your phone, what gadget can you not you go without?
Couldn’t care less about my phone but I do love my ipod. It’s old, dirty and paint-covered but it’s mine.
