Who are you and your current job?
Our Names are Lluís Seda and Victor Muñoz, we are the owners of Boscana Brewery (Gypsy Brewers), We design and produce beer recipes that we would like to find in bars and distribute mainly in Mallorca. We currently have our own bar called “cafe a tres bandas” where every weekend we schedule shows and people can come to dinner and drink a beer of own elaboration
What was the inspiration behind your brewery?
Everything started as a hobby at home, making lots of 30L and as we liked we started to make lots of 1000L and distributed to restaurants, bars, and hotels in the area.
We made beers with tastes and aromas from Mallorca, we have made a Fruit Beer with figs from the Balearic Islands, a wheat beer with orange peel from Sóller and coriander or a Spiced Beer with “Cirereta” peppers that is used for Mallorcan “Sobrasada”.
Can you give us a tour of your beer scene?
Our beer scene is getting stronger, right now we are 12 brewers on an island, it’s crazy! But we are a big family where we can help each other whenever we can. Everyone has their way of working and their marketing idea.
About the brewpubs before there was only a specialized bar, in the last few years there are many who make room for their coolers to put quality beer.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start a brewery?
First is to have the ability to know what kind of beer the public likes, to know their tastes. What beer style is missing in your city, And then have a good business plan, distributors, suppliers of raw material and good marketing.
