NUMIX 2018

NUMIX 2018

Published by BARONMAG

The NUMIX AWARDS Gala organised by the Digital Experiences Producers Association X Quebec will take place on May 17 at the M Telus. This competition recognising the excellence of digital content is the most important annual gathering of that industry in Quebec. Producers can enter their productions from now until Friday, February 23, 2018. To be eligible, productions must have been accessible to the general public between January 1, 2017 and the closing of entries, i.e. February 23, 2018.

This 9th edition signals continuity in terms of the general approach of the competition. Some categories have been revised after consulting the industry and the new director of the NUMIX AWARDS, Marie-Josée Lachance. The objective is to be representative of the current digital landscape. The competition includes 5 major categories representing the main areas of activity of the industry: Communication and Marketing, Game Production, Linear Website Production, Interactive Production, and Cultural Production. Also, three new awards have been added – two for Podcasting and one for Video Mapping. It is worth repeating that last year, among 160 entries received from 120 participating companies, more than 75 Quebec productions were honoured during the awards ceremony, in front of an audience of more than 600 participants.

The jury of this 9th edition will be presided by Monique Simard, former president and chief executive officer of the Société de développement des entreprises culturelles (SODEC). Producer and vice president of Productions Virage from 1998 to 2008, she was also a board member of the Association des producteurs de films et de télévision du Québec and of the Rencontres internationales du documentaire de Montréal, and she held the position of director of the French Program of the National Film Board of Canada (NFB). With this wealth of experience, Mrs. Simard will undoubtedly be able to use her vast knowledge of the industry while serving on the jury. As for the different juries, they will include members from the cultural sector and from the digital industry.

Entries will be accepted between January 22 and February 23, inclusive.
