Color Aislado, graphic designer & illustrator

Published by Leonardo Calcagno

Who are you:

Color Aislado (María Pinto) graphic designer and illustrator

Your current job:

I am an independent graphic designer with a focus on illustration, editorial media, art direction, taking advantage of my skills to do work related to my interests and art.

What city are you?

I am from Bogota. D.C and I currently stand there

A word to define what type of worker you are:

Love

Which tools are essential for your life (application, software, etc.)

Drawing book, brushes, acrylics, markers, Wacom Intuos Comic tablet, MacBook and scanner.

How is your office space?

Ordered and messy at the same time, with too many things, many books, acrylics, brushes, tools, paintings, quartz, and my cat that most of the time is there

What kind of music do you listen to when you are working?

Alternative, Mathrock, indie, rap.

Do you have a way to organize your day to maximize your work?

The day before I make a list in which I prioritize the different tasks that I must do, and I am doing them progressively around the day to save time and dedicate it to both my personal work and my personal interests

What advice would you give to improve productivity?

Focus, love what you do every second of the day and be aware that everything is a process that will bear fruit and that you feedback daily as a person and as a professional.

You are better than your colleagues to:

Generate ideas, concepts, and associations quickly to generate proposals until finding the indicated.

What is the best advice that someone has given you?

“Always give love to everything you do” after I took ownership of it and understood it.

If you do things just to do them and you do not deliver a part of yourself you will not enjoy your work; but if you do otherwise, you will always give your best and be positive in the face of any adversity.

What is your best advice to save time?

Focus, finish your projects one at a time.

What is your starting and ending routine for the day?

Have time for me, have to breakfast and get lots of sun in the company of my cat; at night I usually have better fluency in my ideas, I write them or I do some small skits, I make a tea and I get distracted on Netflix

Apart from your computer and your phone, what gadget cannot do without?

I need some colored sheets or a notebook in addition to some colored markers or spheres; apart from a lip balm and my glasses.
