My name is Aliyeh Rasooli Zadeh. I have a PhD in agriculture and Master and bachelor’s in microbiology. I love nature, science and technology and as an entrepreneur, I try to build a business to bring all of these together.

A word to define what type of worker you are:

Passionate achiever

Congratulations on winning the ELLEvate Women Entrepreneurs Pre-Accelerator Pitch Competition. What does this program, and this award mean to you?

With a well-defined entrepreneurship program like ELLEvate, women with no business background could learn essential skills to start a business and work on an idea they believe in and that could positively influence the world.

What was it like to be in a program that was focused on and consisted of solely women entrepreneurs?

The cohort created a nurturing environment where all of us could work and support each other. Being surrounded by a group of like-minded women who authentically shared their setbacks and doubts during the journey and how they overcame their fear and continued their path to success was a mind-changing experience.

What makes your company unique? Why?

A burning desire to reduce the environmental cost related to food production and produce high-quality and natural ingredients in highly automated farms.

Because we believe that each one of us is responsible for managing our limited resources. So, simple and innovative changes in conventional farming practices could significantly help our sacred environment.

How big is your company?

We are at the pilot stage.

What tools are essential to your life (app, software)?

Always my pen and my journaling notebook where I write down all the things that I am grateful for in my life or where I just do a brain dump.

What does your office space look like?

Simple white space in which I only have my adjustable desk in front of a window with a nice view of nature. Next to my desk, my canvas stands with an unfinished painting and a shelf of my favorite books that remind me of the inspiring stories of successful people.

Do you have a way to organize your days in order to optimize your work?

I am using Jira Software to organize my tasks and make track them.

What “tips” would you recommend for improving productivity?

To set my values and goals help me to easily ignore instant (or immediate) gratification and distraction.

How do you control your company’s growth?

Listening to the market and respond to my customers’ needs Harness technology, especially automation

About design, what does your brand represent/reflect?

It represents high-quality and natural nutrition using exotic and alternative sources.

Design: how was it designed? By whom?

I have designed it myself using Looka Logo maker!

What’s your best tip for saving time?

Spend quality of time each morning and prioritize your to-do list.

Never postpone your work until the deadline. Stress will reduce productivity.

What are your end and start day routines?

My day starts at 5 am by jogging, meditation, and journaling.

Before going to sleep, I read at least 10 pages of a book or listen to my favorite podcast.

What were your biggest challenges as an entrepreneur?

Get free from social expectations and define my own values.

What have been your biggest supports and resources in navigating your company through the covid-19 pandemic?

My family, my friends, and my favorite book “The War of Art” by Steven Pressfield.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to start a business?

Share your business idea with people, ask for their honest opinion. Don’t be afraid that your idea will be stolen, rather believe that with a different perspective, your idea will evolve.

Talk with your potential customers and try to understand them and solve their problems.

Apart from your computer and your phone, what gadget can you not do without?

Robot vacuum cleaner!
