Easy Tips That Will Prevent Various Contaminants From Entering Your Home

Published by Programme B

Your home is the place where you feel safest. Home is our sanctuary from everything dangerous outside, be it noises, people, germs and diseases, dust, and the list goes on. One of the most important things to always keep your house safe is to keep it clean and free of any contaminants. This is much easier than you think if you use the right tools and avoid certain habits that may cause more harm than you think. Here are some easy tips to keep your house clean for you and your family to stay healthy.

1. Use Cleaning Agents After Vacuuming

Vacuuming removes the dust on the floor and furniture easily and fast. What the vacuum fails to do is to disinfect your house. Sometimes using water and a mop is not the most effective way to clean before vacuuming, because the dust and other small particles may stick to the ground rather than be gone. Or you may need to mop multiple times, and that’s a waste of water, cleaning agent, and energy. Use your vacuum to clear away dust particles, sand if any, food crumbs, and anything of that sort. Then, using your mop, water, and cleaning agent to disinfect your floors and make your house sparkly clean.

2. Install A Water Softener

Tap water can be tricky. It looks pure, but there are hidden particles in it that you aren’t able to see without a microscope that is very harmful to your body. To get the cleanest, purest water, you need to look for the best water softener system that will perfectly purify tap water. You will feel the difference even in the water’s taste. Tap water can have a strange taste, but water softeners remove whatever contaminants that cause this taste. Water softeners also remove some hard particles that may cause clogging to your pipes.

3. Have A Good Ventilation System

Having good ventilation at home clears it away from smoke and other pollutants that are harmful to breathe in. It also gets rid of any smells you don’t want at home in no time. A good ventilation system also allows the air in your house to always be fresh. Your air conditioners already have their own filters that are for clearing the air from pollutants, but you need to remember to regularly clean them. Good ventilation around the bathroom area is also important to keep your house smelling fresh.

4. Dry Your Kitchen Sponge

Many of us don’t give a lot of thought to the sponges we use to clean dishes and/or the kitchen sink. We have all, or at least most of us left it wet with water and soap and just wet it again the next time we wanted to use it. Unfortunately, this is a dangerous habit we must learn to stop. After using the sponge, you should clear all the soap and foams in it, then either wash it in your dishwasher, since the heat will kill the germs, or put it to dry in the microwave for a minute or two. What we don’t realize is that when the sponge is left soapy and wet, germs grow inside it. Because we don’t see these germs, we never think that they are actually there. We innocently think we are cleaning the kitchen or the dishes with a clean sponge when we’re doing the exact opposite. We’re merely spreading germs all over our dishes and kitchen surfaces.

5. Use More Than One Cutting Board

If you cut your vegetables and fruits on the same cutting board you cut your meat on, stop doing this right away! You should always keep separate cutting boards for meat, vegetables, and fruits. Raw meats leave bacteria and germs we can’t see on the board that contaminates vegetables and fruits. Also, make sure you clean each of your cutting boards and sanitize them after every use. Don’t forget to also clean the counters where you had your cutting boards on; you never see what dripped from your meat or vegetables. Keep your kitchen sanitized at all times to make sure your food is always safe for you and your family.

Keeping your house clean is a simple task that only requires getting used to. All you need is to make good use of the tools you have and use them in the right way. Keep your house sanitized and clean to drive away all the contaminants that barge into your home without you either knowing it or allowing them in. These easy tips, and more we are sure that you know from practice, are crucial to you and your house’s safety. You deserve a beautiful, contaminant-free house, so give it to yourself. You earned this pure life, so never settle for anything less.
