Fun Games That Will Spice Up Your Cozy Friday Night With Your Family

Published by Allen Brown

Games night with the family is an important tradition for a lot of people. It is an inexpensive way to make meaningful memories and to spend quality time together. It is important to keep things fun and fresh, so sometimes you might want to switch up the usual games and go for something new. Here are 5 fun games that will spice up your Friday night with the family.

1. Trivia Night

Trivia nights are always a fun time and they will never get bored as there are endless questions and categories to be explored. Each week you can have a different family member host a quiz night and with triviawell.com this will be super easy as you can choose from their thousands of fun questions. Consider having a prize for the winner of the trivia quiz as this will give the night a fun and light-hearted competitive element. This is also a great way to help your kids learn, regardless of their age, as a weekly trivia night will help them absorb knowledge while having fun at the same time.

2. Muffin Time

If you want a card game that is chaotic, fun, and unpredictable then Muffin Time is the game for you. Each player starts with 3 cards and to win the game you need exactly 10 cards in your hand, however, if you think it is going to be an easy ride then you are in for a shock as there are all kinds of crazy twists and turns in this game. With trap cards, counter cards, and action cards the fun does not stop throughout the night. The game can tend to go on for a little while so make sure you are strapped in and ready for the ride.

3. Balloon Volleyball

If you want to get your family moving while still having a fun time then balloon volleyball is the game for you. Move some furniture aside in one of your rooms, probably best to use a bigger room such as a living room and create a space. You need two sides and something that can separate the two sides, for example, a table or some bed sheets that are hung up like a volleyball net. Make sure you blow up a few balloons because you will almost certainly pop some along the way. Next make sure you divide your family into two teams, ideally with even numbers but it is not essential. Then get the balloon up in the air and to score points you have to get the balloon to hit the floor of the other side of the ‘net’. Work together with your teammate to do volleys and slams and whoever gets to 11 points first wins the game! Pop on a fun playlist while you play the game and you and your family will be guaranteed endless laughs and fun.

4. DIY Bowling

Who needs to go out and spend money at a bowling alley when you can set up DIY bowling right in the comfort of your own home. Find some empty plastic bottles and fill them up about halfway with water. This will keep them sturdy but not overly strong so that they become too difficult to knockdown. You will also need something that resembles a bowling ball, for example, you could use a football. Clear a space in the house or if it is a warm summer’s night then get your family out in the garden to play. Get a notepad and pen and get the kids to write down the scores and do the maths. This is a perfect opportunity to let them practice their mathematical skills while potentially not even realizing it.

5. Cornhole

Cornhole is another great game that can be played in your garden. You have two raised platforms that have a hole in the far end and the aim of the game is for players to take turns throwing small bean bags into the hole. This game is strangely addictive and you can separate the teams with parents vs kids and you will quickly see how competitive your children can be when the stakes are raised. Not only is the game a lot of fun, but it also encourages teamwork and gets the kids outside in the fresh air, which can be difficult in this day and age when all they want to do is be glued to their phones.

Have fun, make meaningful memories and teach your children essential life skills such as teamwork with these games. So there you have it, 5 fun games that will breathe life back into your cozy Friday night family games nights.
