In North America this spring to celebrate – and to retire their almost 2 decade collaboration as MINILOGUE – MUTEK is proud to present the Swedish duo in Montréal on April 18 and Toronto on April 19 (in collaboration with our friends, Breakandenter).
Sebastian Mullaert and Marcus Henriksson have honed a peculiar and wide ranging sound over countless releases and collaborations – from house and techno to jazz, ambient, frenetic improvisation and even animated visual conceptualizations. They appeared for the first time at MUTEK in 2010 before teaming up for a 3 hour
improv
with MATHEW JONSON, during our 2012 edition. They have never played in Toronto. This tour marks a kind of denouement as they take an indefinite hiatus from this project to focus on solo pursuits and new opportunities.
In a statement, the duo explained: “We feel that the time has come for us to explore new musical universes, one by one. We support each other fully in this and are excited about the musical adventures we have in front of us.” MINILOGUE will fill these farewell appearances with their unbridled technological and musical prowess, performing multi-hour live sets in both cities.
