Design Council is hosting Active by Design Summit – a one day event to explore how design in spaces and places can improve the health of the nation by encouraging increased activity and access to healthy food.
Physical inactivity costs the UK economy approximately £20bn and leads to around 37,000 premature deaths a year. The problem is vast, however Design Council believes that design can be a catalyst for change – Good design can make active lifestyles more attractive and accessible, helping people to live fitter, healthier lives.
