Published by Leonardo Calcagno

Who are you :

I’m Marc Thomasset, I work under the acronym of TM™. Concept provider, graphic designer, maker. Oh, and book and typography lover.

Your current job :

I’m an Art Director, Graphic Designer and novice Designer.

City?

Brussels, Belgium.

A word to define what kind of worker you are :

Like most Art Directors and Graphic Designers, I’m a bit obsessive.

What tools are essential to your life (app, software, etc..)

Eyes, hands and brain (from time to time) and all the tools that link them to the work I produce.

What does your office space look like?

A mix of old and new, with little hearts cut out in color paper that my daughter made for me.

What kind of music do you listen when you are working ?

It changes all the time. I recently visited a train museum which had an original Trans-Europe Express on display. After seeing it, I have been listening to the Kraftwerk’s song compulsively for a few days.

Do you have a way to organize your day to maximize your work ?

Working way too much and too late. So “no” would be the answer, I’m afraid.

What tips would you give to improve productivity ?

Intense concentration.

You’re better than your colleagues to :

Curiosity maybe.

What is the best advice anyone has given you ?

Keep it simple.

What is your best tip for saving time ?

Avoid meetings if they are not absolutely necessary. Start with sketches before going for the computer. Take a stroll from time to time.

What is your routine start and end of the day ?

Tea in the morning, reading at the end of the day.

Aside from your computer and your phone, what gadget can you not go without?

My glasses.
