Who are you and your current job :
I am Joe Thompson – Owner. I spent 20 Years in the Record Industry back in the 60’s to mid-80’s. I was retired when this record store fell into my lap in 2016 – and I just had to get back in the business. The store has been a going since 2010.

What musical styles do you specialize in?
We specialize in Classic Rock, Jazz, Blues from 60’s to 90’s. We have a huge selection of over 30,000 LPS both Vintage(used) and New Vinyl as well as CDS, Posters, Memorabilia. Metal and Hip Hop are our best new vinyl sellers.
Can you give a small tour of the music scene in your town?
For a small City – Kelowna has a vibrant music scene with several live venues, workshops, pubs featuring live music nightly. From Folk, Rock, Jazz, Blues, Metal – all genres do quite well here.
What’s it like working in a record shop?
Great – you get to connect Music fans with great music each day.
What mind-blowing album are you listing right now?
New Jimi Hendrix is an absolute treat. He was so innovative and ahead of his time.
What does it take for an indie record shop to survive?
Great selection and customer service.
What does Record Store Day, mean to you and your business?
RSD is an annual celebration for music fans – it brings everyone out to check out the newest titles – and the Limited Editions, Coloured Vinyls, and that rare re-release are exciting to find for the avid collectors.
Tips for musicians launching an album?
Keep playing, Keep working to increase your visibility and exposure. Do In-store appearances, interviews whenever you can.
