Storage in Vancouver

Published by Programme B

We are assuming that most people who are visiting our site are interested in Vancouver storage. One of the first questions we have, therefore, is: wherein Vancouver would you like to store your personal or business belongings? There is a multitude of Vancouver self-storage companies throughout British Columbia’s Lower Mainland; you can find facilities in Burnaby, North Van, West Van, Richmond, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Langley, and Delta. However, for our discussion today, we will tend to focus on areas relatively close to downtown.

One of the best ways to find out the choices you have is to log onto your computer, load up the Internet, head to Google, and then type in your particular area of interest. Don’t worry though, because we have done all the work for you today.

Methodology

In order to give you a good idea, in regards to your opportunities, we went online and searched Google for 3 related terms: Vancouver storage, Vancouver Self Storage, and Vancouver Mini Storage. We then took a screen capture of each map and analyzed it. From this information, we believe you will be able to get a good idea as to where you can rent space.

Search 1: Vancouver Storage

Our first search yielded the following results.

As you can see from the Google Maps result (the larger image), there are a whole host of storage facilities. We noted the following trends:

  • There are many facilities in downtown Vancouver.
  • There are many facilities in East Vancouver.
  • There are many facilities in North Vancouver (just over the Second Narrows bridge).
  • There are many facilities in North Richmond.
  • Storage faculties in Burnaby are often located close to the Trans Canada Highway.
  • There are few companies in the West End.
  • There are few companies in West Vancouver.
  • There are few companies in central and south Vancouver.

Search 2: Vancouver Self Storage

The term, Vancouver Self Storage, returned fewer results; however, the placement was quite similar. The areas with higher concentrations of facilities include Downtown, East Van, North Van near the bridge, and North Richmond.

Search 3: Vancouver Mini Storage

The results for our final term, Vancouver Mini Storage, were also fairly similar. Buildings were primarily located in Downtown, East Van, North Van near the bridge, Burnaby near the highway, and North Richmond.

Conclusion

As you can see from our photos, you have a great degree of flexibility and choice in regards to location. This can be considered both a positive and a negative. The positive is that you are likely going to be able to shop around and find a location that is relatively close to your home or business. The problem is that the number of choices can, at times, boggle the mind. After all, it takes time to look up each storage company, find out if they have any vacancies, determine what their rates are, discover their hours of operation, and so on. Despite saying this, we hope that our analysis of Vancouver storage locations has been somewhat helpful.

In the coming weeks and months, we will be looking at a host of topics that will help you narrow down this vast array of choices, and allow you to make an informed decision.
