What Makes International Schools So Popular?

What Makes International Schools So Popular?

Published by Programme B

As parents, we want the best for our kids. When it comes to choosing a school to get them educated, we always look for an institution that offers our children a range of options. More and more parents are sending their kids to international schools and the rest are considering a switch. But why are so many more kids going to international schools than ever before?

Critical Thinking & Problems Solving

There is nothing wrong with a public-school education, but it has its limitations. Although most of them have a strong academic focus, they mainly concentrate on rote learning.

This means students are required to listen to their instructors and then recite what they have “learned” through end of semester exams. This does not develop critical thinking skills or problem-solving skills.

An international school curriculum in Bangkok at one of the leading learning institutes focuses on thinking outside the box. Students are encouraged to ask questions and think for themselves. The answer is not given to them, they have to evaluate, inspect, and assess their options and find their own way to the solution.

More Options

When your child attends an international school, they have a lot more options in terms of what they can study while at school.

Public schools have a standardized curriculum that every student has to study, there are no electives. Internationals schools utilize programs from other countries, such as the US and the UK. They offer a wider range of subjects, so students can study fields which really excite them.

They have courses and programs in place that are not available to students who attend a local school. They also conduct lessons in English, which is the language of business and recognized as so worldwide.

Experience New Cultures

Another reason why an international school is becoming more and more popular is due to the fact that children get to learn about and interact with people from a range of backgrounds. When your kids attend an international school, they get to mix with people of all cultures. This helps them to become more accepting and understanding of the world around them.

Just because an international school offers a lot of benefits does not mean another learning institution is bad for your kid. Not all international schools offer the best education, and many public schools are run by hardworking, dedicated people. It is important to do your research when choosing between a public school and an international school.
