What were your challenges in 2021?

2021 has been a challenging year for our company. Regarding the challenges of the microbrewery, one could mention, among others, the changes in the law applicable to alcohol permits that allowed the holder of artisanal permits to reach retailers. A great victory for them, but this change, which allowed new players to enter the market, increased competition and influenced demand. We have carefully retained our current customers and outlets to ensure that we do not see too significant an impact on our bottom line.

As for the restaurant-pub, the lack of manpower was greatly felt. Whether it is related to the Covid and the closure of restaurants, to the government’s offers for salary substitutions, or to the simple labor shortage that Quebec has been feeling for some time, we have faced it and we are there. still faces this day. We had to say goodbye to some important members who played key roles in our team. These departures and the lack of potential candidates had an impact on the whole team which, despite everything, was able to stick together.

What are the upcoming projects for your company in 2022?

Our plans for 2022 are clear and motivating. First, in the same perspective as in previous years, we want to maintain good and stable relationships with our points of sale and thus build customer loyalty by offering them quality products.

We are scheduled to move in April 2022. After almost 9 years in our current restaurant-pub, we will finally realize our dream of moving to a bigger place. A room that will not only be able to accommodate a larger clientele but which will also allow us to offer a pleasant place in summer and winter thanks to our future roof terrace.

In our new restaurant-pub with an eco-responsible vision, we will keep our zero waste mission thanks to compost, but we will also have the possibility of installing a green wall, an indoor greenhouse in the basement, as well as a solar wall for the use of greener energy! Several other environmental initiatives are expected in this project. We will be happy to serve you a good beer in our new premises next spring. Health!
