Published by Programme B

Canada is a wonderful country to visit for a vacation, especially for those who love the outdoors. Canada is home to some of the most spectacular scenery on the planet but what happens as the sun starts to set? Canada is a massive country and there is plenty to do when it gets dark but what are the most underrated nightspots to visit in Canada?

Altona Beach

A beach may not be the first place you think of heading as the sun goes down but there are two reasons why Altona Beach is one of the most underrated nightspots to visit in Canada. Located in Manitoba, Altona Beach is home to one of the most spectacular sunsets in Canada. Not to be confused with the beach of the same name in Australia, Altona Beach is popular in the summer months thanks to the parties that take place during the night. The town is known as “The Sunflower Capital of Canada” and hosts the annual Sunflower Festival.

St Johns

The likes of Toronto and Vancouver come with a reputation of a great nightlife and they are immensely popular cities to visit in Canada but an underrated city nightspot is St Johns. This city is in Newfoundland and has more pubs per capita than any other Canadian city. St Johns is also home to King’s Casino and having visited some of the pubs, you can head to the casino and play games long into the night. Even when the doors to the casino shut for the night, you can continue playing thanks to the best online casinos on the Canadian market. If you can travel to St Johns in late July or early August, you will enjoy the George Street Festival, which is one giant pub crawl along the street.

Niagara Falls

Most photos and videos you see of Niagara Falls are taken during daylight hours. The falls is one of the most popular destinations in the world but many people arrive for just one day, missing the night-time entertainment. The falls are well lit during the night, changing colour every few minutes. On the Canadian side of the falls, the nightlife is spectacular, with themed bars and restaurants plus a vast array of amusements. You must stay at least one night at Niagara Falls to join in the fun.

Second City

Toronto is full of bars and nightclubs but one of the most underrated nightspots in the city is Second City. This is a comedy club that started in 1959 and has been producing some of the best comedic talent in Canada ever since. There are live shows every night at the venue on York Street and some of the stars who have performed in the past include Dan Aykroyd, Gilda Radner, John Candy, Martin Short, Mike Myers, and Eugene Levy. You can even follow in the footsteps of the great comedies by signing up for an improv class.

These are just some of the many underrated nightspots to visit in Canada and you can choose where you would like to go based on your interests.
