Anecdote / Souvenir:

The first Mondial for Le Naufrageur and I took place at Gare Windsor. We had a joint booth with members of the Distribières cooperative. Quite a shaky booth… but still, it was a great experience and the beginning of beautiful friendships (with other members, the organization of the Mondial, and many customers).

Afterward, with my own booth at the convention center… many friends came to help me serve thousands and thousands of 4oz beers amidst the noise and the breaking of glasses by overly enthusiastic festival-goers. It’s amazing how the Mondial was for me the beginning and continuation of great friendships.

And what about the privilege of being invited by the organization to judge at the Rio Mondial… to be able to save them from the deluge…

Beer discovered at the Mondial de la Bière:

I had the chance to discover a huge quantity of beers at the event, but one that comes to mind is not so much for its eccentricity but for its primary quality of being very good and accessible and fun to drink, as well as the nice encounter with its creators… It was a Brett IPA straight from Brazil. It was the first step of Overhop in Quebec.

What are your plans for this summer?

Summer is an important season for the team. Tourism is a factor we cannot neglect. That’s why for this season, we will mainly focus on maintaining and solidifying our foundations, showcasing our regular and organic beer ranges, and above all, focusing on the pub. Furthermore, our pub and events manager plans a music program for the summer that will rival the big concert halls!

Participating Brewery at the Mondial Are you bringing a special beer to the Mondial that we should try?

Yes, the Pat Kaveney. “Pat Kaveney is an Irish Red Ale, a light and dry ale. Its dry and refreshing side comes from its high attenuation, but also from the roasted malts used in brewing, which contribute to accentuating the dryness effect. We added a slight smoky aspect to it, giving it a touch of the maritime, in line with our image. True to the style, Pat Kaveney is designed as a highly drinkable beer with style and some complexity.”
