Published by Leonardo Calcagno

Who are you :
Julie Clark

Your current job :
Owner of Province Apothecary

In which city are you located?
Toronto

A word to define what kind of worker you are:
hard worker.

What tools are essential to your life (app, software, etc..)
We use square and Shopify in the studio, I really like Trello to keep things organized, and youcanbookme.com to organize my clients.

What does your office space look like?
It’s both an office and a production space, with the treatment space in the room next door. It is usually full of products, ingredients and my two studio managers.

What kind of music do you listen when you are working ?
Everything. Lots of Songza and upbeat power mixes.

Do you have a way to organize your day to maximize your work?
I try to get to the studio before everyone else so I have a little time to myself to answer emails uninterrupted. I also do this at night, and stay late. I have clients and treatments daily, so I plan my time by the minute. I meditate before and after work to help keep myself calm and focused.

What tips would you give to improve productivity?
Stay organized, drink lots of water, talk a walk or a break if you feel tired/unfocused. Meditation has helped me a lot with my own productivity.

You’re better than your colleagues to:
know what’s going on and what’s coming up.

What is the best advice anyone has given you ?
Trust yourself

What is your best tip for saving time ?
I have lived without very much money before and I feel this has taught me how to be smart with money. I also hate shopping.

What is your routine start and end of the day ?
Most of my day is spent at the studio so I try to make the most of my time away. Recently my morning consist of meditating, swimming and enjoying breakfast. Nights are generally spent with friends or my partner, enjoy food and culture.

Aside from your computer and your phone, what gadget can you not you go without?
I love our vita mix, I have an amazing essential oil diffuser that I use daily, I could not live without my humidifier in the winter. I don’t have any other ‘gadgets’ beside my computer and phone.
