Office tale of Lorena G, graphic designer and illustrator

Published by Leonardo Calcagno

Who are you:

I’m a graphic designer and illustrator, still figuring out the rest 🙂

Your current job:

I’m currently working as freelance designer.

In which city are you located?

A word to define what kind of worker you are:

What tools are essential to your life (app, software, etc..)

I mainly use Adobe products for my projects, iMac, Wacom tablet, paper, pencil and huge amounts of tea.

What does your office space look like?

My space is very light and tidy, as I like to work in an organized and clean environment.

I share space with my partner, who is a landscaper, so there’re always fresh flowers and green everywhere! Also have lots of books and a cat that’s always messing around. Plus I live close to the sea, what allows you to get out and unwind easily, so it’s quite a nice place to work in.

What kind of music do you listen when you are working?

Do you have a way to organize your day to maximize your work?

I usually list down things I need to achieve for the day.

What tips would you give to improve productivity?

Keeping your mind and workspace clear works for me personally. Also timing how long it takes you to complete every project and remember to have a good work-life balance to stay motivated.

You’re better than your colleagues to:

Eat tuna maki

What is the best advice anyone has given you?

Trust your guts

What is your best tip for saving time?

Think before you do something. Sketcking and planning helps a lot.

What is your routine start and end of the day?

A huge natural orange juice to start the day and going for a run always helps to clear my mind at the end of the day. Also I like to close the week with some Iyengar yoga on Fridays.

Aside from your computer and your phone, what gadget can you not you go without?
