James Bond has always been a hot topic among movie enthusiasts and the reputation of the character precedes him into the gaming lobbies of some of the most exclusive online and land-based casinos. Why? James Bond Casino Royal was an absolute blockbuster hit and it brought the casino industry to light in a rather entertaining way. Every man wants to be like the James Bond character and every woman wants to be on his arm. The movie star’s character excels at everything he does and the first lesson in being like James Bond is getting to know your poker hands order so you too can be as smooth and successful as James Bond is at the tables. Listed below is the professional guide for beginners, one which helps them understand the poker hand order and which hand beats the opponents.

The Highest Winning Poker Hand in Order

Royal Flush

One hand which beats them all is a Royal Flush. This is by far the most popular winning hand as it is the hardest to form. The poker hand means business as it runs from Ace to 10 and includes Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10. The hand should be of the same suit in order for it to be a Royal Flush.

Straight Flush

The runner up, the second most powerful hand, is a straight flush. This hand run in sequence and is of the same suit. For example, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 of diamonds is a straight flush.

Four of a Kind

During a poker game, chances are players are more likely to see a four of a kind hand as opposed to a royal flush. Unless lady luck is on their side or they do indeed play like James Bond himself. The hand consists of 4 of the same ranking cards but they needn’t be of the same suit. For example, 7 of diamonds, 7 of clubs, 7 of hearts and 7 of spades with a 10 kicker is 4 of a kind. Should players at the table also hold a hand consisting of 4 of a kind the player with the highest ranking number wins the round.

Full House

A full house is 3 of a kind and a pair. A pair is two of a kind and none of the cards to be matching suits.

Flush

Any 5 cards with the same suit but no running sequence is a flush. For example, 5 hearts and various numbers is a flush.

Straight

A straight hand is the opposite of a flush. It will be all the numbers running in a coordinated sequence but from different suits.

Three of a Kind

This hand holds 3 of the same value cards. Another example is 5 of hearts, 5 of clubs, 5 of spades and a king and a 10.

Two Pair

Getting lower on the valuable hands we come to a two pair. This hand consists of 2 different pairs and a kicker.

Pair

The hand has consisted of only 1 pair and no other matching cards. For example, two 10’s of different suits and 2, 6 and 8 is a pair and beats the below hand, a high card.

High Card

This is the lowest possible win and the hand holds only the highest card win. If the player holds 2, 5, 8, 9 and a Jack, the Jack is the highest win only if other players hold nothing or a lower high card hand.

Once you have gotten to know your hands and the order of the wins, you can begin to understand how players bluff, how to keep your cool and show nothing and when to raise and fold. All of these factors weigh up how your game will end and whether or not you do in fact play like a movie star.

A number of professional Canadian poker players have turned the game into a way of life, they’ve embraced it as a culture and they too have been referred to the James Bonds of the table. Play the tables like a movie star or check out James Bond themed card games, you may be able to adopt the same swagger as the popular movie icon himself and if not, you may at least win some fun money!
