Mathieu Tessier – Sales Director

How long have you been brewing beer and what are your brewery’s core values?
Officially founded in 2016 by four Portneuvois with the desire to energize their native environment, the Microbrasserie Les Grands Bois is the result of a common passion between long-time friends, relentless tests and varied experiences here and around the globe to find out what’s best in the brewing world. Located in the heart of the village of Saint-Casimir, in a former cinema built in 1946, the Microbrasserie Les Grands Bois offers a diverse range of craft beers produced with top-quality ingredients, without compromising on taste. The products are original and constantly push the limits of creativity while standing out with their flamboyant labels which make each of the Grands Bois beers as beautiful to see as they are good to drink!

What are the main types of beer you brew?
We are big thirsty beer lovers, so we have a preference for lagers, Belgian saisons, IPA sessions, and any other style we like.

What makes your beer unique? Do you bring a special beer to Mondial that we should try? If so, what is it and what can you tell us about it?
At the Mondial, we will have Bingo Pivo at the Bucké Distribution kiosk.

PIVO BINGO

Style: Světlé Výčepní – 4.5%

Lager was inspired by the very popular style in Czechia, the Pilsner. Brewed by decoction, which consists of boiling part of the mash (grains), which develops a roundness in the mouth as well as honeyed aromas and fresh cereals. Saaz hops bring floral/spicy/herbaceous notes. Fermented at low temperatures with a Lager yeast, it requires a long cold maturation.

What are the plans for the future?
We have several projects that relate directly or indirectly to the brewing field.
Les Vendredis Sains (Public & Cultural Market Local producers & artisans + Shows Every Friday)
La Commission B (Musical & brewing festival in St-Casimir from June 16 to 18, 2023)
Ciné Cool Club (Film screenings located in the region for lovers of auteur cinema and popcorn.)
All our musical and comedy shows are listed here (https://www.lesgrandsbois.com/evenements)
There is a 100% Nelson Sauvin IPA that will be released to promote Commission B in the next month.
